Head of Product Owners is the role that coordinates and ensures that the company gives to production only high-quality products, that reflect business needs. To meet this goal, the goals for PO team and Head of PO, as leader and manager of this team, should be:
1. To establish a vision of ’Who is POs and why we need them’
— To develop a vision ’who is POs’ and their responsibility.
— To communicate the vision to all team members and to the whole company
— To communicate all problems/changes/needs to Director of Engineering
2. To establish PO work processes:
— To develop and set up PO work processes in the product team
— To develop and set up PO work processes with outside teams (includes processes for task acceptance from business and the projects handing-over)
3. To create motivated and self-organized team of PO:
— To hold one to one meetings with team members
— To set up scrum process for the PO team (with DM/weekly, demo, retro)
— To get feedback from the team and improve processes
— To be responsible for resolving all POs problems and conflicts
— Be the final instance in making decisions for POs
4. To establish the system, which meets business deadlines and expectations:
— To be aware about all changes from a business perspective
— To help Team members to prioritize their work
— To be aware about process of other Product Team members, work with other ’Head of...’ to improve them.
