WordPress/CMS Engineer

ZFORT Group is looking for a skilled and adaptable WordPress/CMS Engineer with solid experience in website development.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain custom WordPress websites, plugins, and backend features
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and execution of creative ideas
• Lead backend development for WordPress projects from initial setup to deployment
• Customize and extend WordPress functionality through custom plugins and themes
• Optimize backend performance and implement best practices for scalability and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
• Integrate third-party APIs and systems as needed
• Ensure websites follow SEO and accessibility best practices on the backend

Required skills and qualifications:

• Excellent English speaking and writing skills
• 5+ years of experience with WordPress backend development, PHP, and MySQL
• Proficiency in creating custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
• Strong understanding of WordPress REST API, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), WP-CLI, and custom post types
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
• Experience with WooCommerce is a plus
• Solid knowledge of website performance optimization and security best practices
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred (nice to have) Qualifications:

• Understanding of SEO best practices and website performance optimization
• Experience integrating third-party tools and APIs
• Knowledge of Headless CMS technologies and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
• Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
