Yola is looking for a Lead/senior product designer.
You will lead the design team in developing the design system and UX of the new site builder platform in close collaboration with Product Managers, and develop the design quality and design processes of the company by providing mentorship and guidance to the rest of the team.
We are a multinational company distributed within two continents, therefore advanced English is a must.

Responsibilities:

As a design professional

  • A primary focus is on translating the product vision into requirements and essential design driven by the best UX methodologies and patterns.
  • Work closely with the product team to navigate the details of overall product strategy, business goals, and individual project requirements.
  • Know all the company’s goals.
  • Know all technical limitations and dependencies.
  • Understanding the key design methodologies.
  • Produce design solutions based on hypotheses & user testing results.
  • Develop the overall design system and guidelines of the company.
  • Perform UX research, user interviews, user testing, product, and competitive analysis to evaluate the best solution for our customers.

As a Team lead

  • Support and mentor each member of your team.
  • Onboard and adapt new designers of all levels.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, project reviews, retrospectives.
  • Ensure the company processes are followed.
  • Assist Product Managers in the grooming product backlog to prepare for a sprint.
  • Manage the readiness and quality of the implementation plans.
  • Coordinate and get the approval for the created implementation plans from Product Managers.
  • Develop design processes, starting from UX research and competitive analysis to creating sophisticated solutions, presenting, and defending them.
  • Facilitate the team in design discussions.
  • Keep the focus of the team on achieving the sprint goals according to the acceptance criteria of each priority.
  • Represent the voice of the design team in Product and Management meetings.

Your Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design including.
  • Deep understanding of UX methodologies, patterns, and metrics.
  • Good understanding of the product metrics.
  • Strong UI skills.
  • Cross-platform design.
  • Prototyping.
  • Design systems development.
  • Competitive analysis.
  • User research & persona development.
  • Usability testing.
  • Requirements definition.
  • 1+ years of experience in leading positions.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in consumer software.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JS principles.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
