Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a fast-growing FinTech product and take ownership of the quality direction on the project.

This is a hands-on role for a strong QA generalist who combines solid manual testing expertise with practical test automation skills. You will be actively involved in testing new features manually, maintaining product quality across frequent releases, and building or improving test automation for stable and critical flows.

We are looking for a self-starter who can independently identify quality risks, decide what should be automated and what is better tested manually, introduce new tools and approaches, and drive quality improvements across the project. The role also provides an opportunity to explore and apply AI tools in practical testing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual testing of new features, integrations, and existing product functionality;
• Take ownership of product quality and drive improvements across the project;
• Define the right balance between manual and automated testing based on product risks, stability, and business priorities;
• Assess the existing automation setup and build, improve, or redesign it where needed;
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for stable and business-critical product flows;
• Ensure effective regression coverage for frequent product releases;
• Establish, review, and continuously improve QA processes, testing practices, and quality standards;
• Identify quality risks early and proactively propose solutions;
• Evaluate and introduce tools and approaches that improve testing efficiency and product quality;
• Explore and apply AI tools in testing workflows, including test generation and optimization of repetitive QA activities;
• Collaborate closely with Node.js and React.js engineers, PM, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle;
• Communicate progress, risks, and quality concerns clearly and proactively;
• Work independently with minimal oversight while staying visible and reliable for the team and client.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in software testing;
• Strong hands-on experience in manual testing of complex web applications;
• Solid hands-on experience with test automation;
• Strong programming skills in at least one language used for test automation, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python.
• Experience with modern test automation frameworks and tools;
• Ability to design and implement a test automation approach from scratch or review and significantly improve an existing solution;
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests for critical business flows;
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test design techniques, regression testing, and risk-based testing;
• Experience establishing or significantly improving QA processes on a project;
• Ability to independently determine what should be automated and what is more efficient to test manually;
• Experience working with actively developed products and frequent release cycles;
• Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar;
• Practical experience using AI tools in testing workflows or a strong understanding of how AI can be applied to improve QA efficiency;
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives from idea to implementation;
• Proactive approach: ability to identify problems and propose tools, processes, and improvements without waiting for detailed instructions;
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight;
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
