About the role
This role will employ a wide variety of data science skills to create a fantastic consumer and partner experience. You will work on significant, ambiguous, and cross-functional problems with our Product, Marketing, Strategy, and operation teams and generate data-driven insights that push the business forward.
This role helps understand questions such as:
- User insights and segmentation: How do users behave on our site (and beyond), and what patterns can we identify? Can we segment users in ways that help our marketing and product teams provide a better experience?
- Experimentation: can we standardize how we run A/B tests and automate all our test analyses? How can we run 10x more experiments in 1-2 years?
- Reporting and storytelling: how can we succinctly summarize how our business is performing? What metrics should we track, how should we define them, and why?
- Data modelling and data architecture: how do we structure our data so that it can quickly answer most questions? How do we expose the data to other teams?
Responsibilities:
- Share customer insights, develop metrics, and explain testing results to technical and non-technical team members.
- Identify complex issues within your area, simplify them, and work with other teams to create solutions for broader company challenges.
- Promote the importance of data-driven decisions.
- Build dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or QuickSight. Experience with similar tools can substitute for Tableau.
- Develop reusable frameworks, like simulations or analysis methods, for teammates.
- Design and run experiments (like A/B tests) to evaluate product changes with a clear business and customer focus.
- Collaborate with engineering to enhance data collection for accuracy and quality.
- Track data with tools like Google Analytics.
- Build data pipelines with tools such as dbt.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of work experience involving quantitative data science/data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in SQL & Python.
- Experience using Tableau and/or Looker and/or QuickSight, etc.
- Experience in running A/B tests while applying mathematical statistics and probability theory;
- A track record of running 80-20 analysis, i.e. the ability to quickly solve problems with data in the fastest, most efficient way possible.
- Strong product sense and business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and detailed analysis into simple, structured frameworks with concrete action plans.
- Upper-Intermediate level of English.
