We are looking to hire a professional to take ownership of the Fuzu (fuzu.com) platform engineering. You would be joining an ambitious and high-performing team of professionals with experience from leading startups and corporates in Europe, Africa, and the US.

Great software products can only be created by A-level performers who place the needs of the end-users at the forefront of everything. Fuzu’s ambition is bold and the new Head of Engineering will coordinate the work of the international engineering team and provide the team with the necessary guidance and coaching.



In this position, you will:

— Report to the Chief Product Officer (CPO)

— Lead the day-to-day engineering team’s work in close alignment with the product managers/design leads

— Lead the development of core platform assets with the support of the broader engineering team

— Own the Fuzu platform tech stack and software architecture

— Coordinate and operationalize Fuzu DevOps

— Work closely with product management in evaluating technical feasibility/RoI of planned product features and drive grooming and team level prioritisation of product investments

— Work closely with the product design and engineering team members in sprint planning and identification of optimal design and technical solutions (problem solving)

What we expect from you:

— Minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience from technical (and commercial) product management, software development (optimally full-stack, but with strong back-end capabilities), system design, or related fields

— Experience from developing and operating complex SaaS and/or online platforms in preferably high-growth startups (in-house and/or leading software agencies)

— Data models and schemas — you have experience from working with complex data architectures and taxonomies as well as from aligning the evolution of the data architecture with the business needs

— Data- and end-user driven approach — you are able to evaluate the impact and technical feasibility of the proposed solutions and to align technical specifications with business and end-user needs

These are considered a plus:

— Technical specifications — you have experience from developing technical specifications and logical frameworks

— Experience from the following technologies: RoR, React, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Heroku

— Experience from projects including machine learning (e.g. data classification, natural language processing, recommender systems) components
