Wix’s Back-End Engineering group with an engineering culture that embraces cutting-edge technologies, TDD, performance and clean code for our highly scalable systems that support over 100 million users.

The Wix Stores team is responsible for providing users with a platform they can use to easily sell online including beautiful storefronts (galleries, product pages, carts, checkouts) and a highly functional, easy-to-maintain back office for desktop and mobile. We use best practices and TDD to enable fast production changes every day and provide the best eCommerce solution out there!

Our team leaders set the tone and standard of our developer-centric culture. They are also mentors of engineers, helping them better themselves — both in terms of technical and human skills — through pair-programming, coaching and mentorship.

You are:

A leader who has the skills and passion to create a vision for your team and lead people through its execution. Your 2+ years of experience in team leading and mentoring engineers has made you opinionated yet humble and respectful of the opinions of others.

You’re intelligent, passionate and experienced in Java server-side technologies in a web environment. You are interested in Scala or have experience with it.

You have an in-depth understanding of OOP, SOLID and know functional programming principles. You care about design. You are passionate about TDD methodology and microservices architecture.

You’re allergic to ugly, unmaintainable code, have written production-grade code and are familiar with software engineering best practices while also keeping an eye out for bad practices and anti-patterns.

You’ve developed, designed and maintained highly available and large-scale production systems and are skilled in continuous integration and continuous delivery.

As a Back-End Team Leader, you will:

Recruit top talented developers to our group.
Mentor and advise your team in code review, pair programming and more.
See the big picture of group tasks and make prioritization decisions.
Be an at least 80% hands-on developer as part of the team.
Share knowledge both within your team and outside of the group.
Discover the technical debt and challenges being faced, and assist in solving them.
Interact with stakeholders outside the team.
