The Head of PMO/CIO plays a pivotal role in our IT company, overseeing and optimizing the entire project management process. The primary focus of this role is to manage project managers, and to streamline the efficiency of software development life cycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and quality assurance (QA) processes. The Head of PMO/CIO will lead initiatives to improve documentation, and onboarding, expand development teams, establish project metrics, and enhance the quality of business analysis and technical requirements. The Head of PMO/CIO will also be responsible for creating implementation plans, monitoring project progress, resource allocation, risk assessment, and ensuring the timely and within-budget delivery of all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management Leadership:
— Supervising team and improving performance and efficiency of Project Management, QA, and security functions across teams developing FinTech projects.
— Develop and implement project management, security and quality assurance best practices across the organization.
— Foster a culture of continuous improvement in project management methodologies.
SDLC, CI/CD, Security and QA Process/ function Enhancement:
— Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and streamline the software development life cycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, Security( in collaboration with CISO) and QA processes.
— Drive the adoption of software methodologies and automation practices to improve development efficiency.
Documentation and Onboarding:
Lead efforts to enhance project documentation, data storage, and timely updates, ensuring clarity and completeness.
Develop and improve onboarding processes for new team members per function, ensuring a smooth transition into projects.
Team Expansion:
— Identify opportunities for team growth and expansion, working with Recruitment to hire and onboard new development teams.
— Be in charge of enhancing the technical interviewing process, and candidates’ checks.
Project Metrics Implementation:
— Establish and implement project metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and efficiency.
— Assigning and tracking the OKRs for product development teams.
Continuously monitor and analyze software development metrics to identify areas for improvement.
— Analyze and improve the speed/quality of the releases and transparency of the process.
Quality Improvement:
— Collaborate with project managers, QA leads, business analysts and technical teams to improve the quality of business analysis and technical requirements.
— Implement processes for rigorous requirement gathering, validation, and traceability.
— Enhancing the criteria for the definition of done, pre-, and post-release audits and checks.
— Collaboration with CTO on new technology research and implementation.
Project Planning and Oversight:
— Create comprehensive plans for project implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
— Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and take corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
Resource Allocation and Risk Management:
— Assign resources to projects based on skill sets and availability, making adjustments as necessary.
— Evaluate potential project risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
Security:
— Collaborate with CISO and oversee the data and project security.
— Oversight of the DevOps function.
— Oversee security audits and fix/implement based on findings.
— Drive best practices of application security.
Team Coordination:
— Coordinate and improve the usefulness of regular team meetings to ensure alignment, engagement, and a clear understanding of project responsibilities.
Budget and Timeline Management:
— Be in charge of the budget per team and project.
— Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time and within allocated budgets.
Training
— Hire, onboarding, training and performance review the team and tech leaders across the company.
— Arrange and provide regular training to project managers and other team members.
