We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IPS/IDS (Intrusion Prevention System/Intrusion Detection System) Administrator to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing our IPS/IDS solutions to safeguard our organization’s critical assets and information against cyber threats. This role requires a deep understanding of network security, strong analytical skills, and the ability to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

• Deployment and Configuration — install, configure, and maintain IPS/IDS solutions to ensure comprehensive network protection.
• Implement and manage security policies, rules, and signatures to enhance detection capabilities.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and security events using IPS/IDS tools.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts and incidents to identify and respond to potential threats.
• Develop and execute incident response plans in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.
• Investigate security incidents, provide root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Regularly fine-tune IPS/IDS systems to reduce false positives and enhance detection accuracy.
• Stay informed about emerging threats and adjust security measures accordingly.
• Work closely with other IT and security teams to integrate IPS/IDS solutions with other security controls.
• Collaborate with system administrators to ensure the seamless operation of network security measures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of IPS/IDS configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall system performance.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Higher technical education in IT, information security, telecommunication, or related areas.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as an IPS/IDS administrator or in a similar role for 2+ years.
• Familiarity with industry-leading IPS/IDS solutions and their deployment in complex networks.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Proficient in the use of IPS/IDS tools and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Practical experience in administering various operating systems (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD).
• Basic knowledge of programming and scripting languages, knowledge of network technologies and protocols, modern cryptography methods and encryption technologies;
• Knowledge of Ukrainian legislation in the field of information security (Laws of Ukraine “On Information”, “On Telecommunications”, “On Personal Data Protection”) and international standards and metodologies in the field of information security (ISO/IEC 27001, 27002, NIST, COBIT, OWASP).

Additional skills (desirable, not mandatory).

• Hands-on experience with network equipment (modems, routers, switches, hubs, multiplexers, adapters, etc.) and security systems (Cisco, IBM, Trend Micro, Splunk, McAfee, CheckPoint);
• Experience in working with such protocols/services/systems as VPN, DMZ, Radius, NAT, DHCP, VLAN, DNS;
• Experience in developing, implementing and administering security solutions: Enterprise Firewalls, WAF, Proxy, NGFW, DLP, SIEM, anti-DDoS, NGAV, EDR;
• Experience with Open Source information security tools, Web Security Scanner and devices that provide information encryption.
