We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Security Specialist to join our cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and resilience of our organization’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of network security principles, hands-on experience with security technologies, and a proactive mindset to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage robust network security architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Collaborate with network engineers to integrate security measures into the overall network design.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on network systems.
- Implement and manage vulnerability remediation plans to address identified security risks.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and security events.
- Develop and execute incident response plans to address and mitigate security incidents.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a security-conscious culture.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of network security controls.
- Prepare and present reports on security metrics, incidents, and compliance status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CCNA Security are preferred.
- Proven experience as a Network Security Specialist or in a similar role for 2+ years.
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies and equipment (modems, routers, switches, hubs, multiplexers, adapters, etc.), and security systems (Cisco, IBM, Trend Micro, Splunk, McAfee, CheckPoint);
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as Wireshark, Snort, and Nessus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address security issues.
- Ability to analyze network traffic patterns to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical experience in administering various operating systems (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD).
- Basic knowledge of programming and scripting languages, knowledge of network technologies and protocols, modern cryptography methods and encryption technologies;
- Knowledge of Ukrainian legislation in the field of information security (Laws of Ukraine “On Information”, “On Telecommunications”, “On Personal Data Protection”) and international standards and metodologies in the field of information security (ISO/IEC 27001, 27002, NIST, COBIT, OWASP).
Additional skills (nice to have, not mandatory).
- Experience in working with such protocols/services/systems as VPN, DMZ, Radius, NAT, DHCP, VLAN, DNS;
- Experience in developing, implementing and administering security solutions: WAF, IDS/IPS, Proxy, NGFW, DLP, SIEM, anti-DDoS, NGAV, EDR;
- Experience with Open Source information security tools, Web Security Scanner and devices that provide information encryption.
