Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Platform Engineer to join our growing Data Tech team. This is a unique opportunity to help build and scale the core data infrastructure that powers WIO’s analytics, AI, and real-time decision-making capabilities.
You’ll work on building internal tools, high-performance data services, and modern data pipelines — enabling fast, secure, and reliable data access across the organization. This is your chance to contribute to a cloud-native platform that’s redefining digital banking in the MENA region.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop internal data tools and services for engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data integrations (Databricks, Kafka, APIs, etc.).
• Create Python-based microservices to support automation, data governance, and access control.
• Collaborate with data warehouse and ML teams to deliver production-grade datasets and APIs.
• Continuously improve platform performance, observability, and reliability.

Must-Have Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-intensive engineering role
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Good understanding of data pipelines and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar streaming platforms
• Familiarity with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing
• Solid knowledge of data modeling and data quality concepts

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
• Exposure to ML Ops, AIOps, or DataOps practices
• Experience with tools like OpenMetadata, Soda, or dbt
• Background in fintech or other regulated environments
• Interest in developer tooling, automation, and platform engineering
