About the role
We are seeking a proactive and innovative DevOps Engineer to shape Chowdeck’s infrastructure. Leveraging AWS and other cloud technologies, you’ll improve scalability, enhance observability, and ensure our systems are resilient, efficient, and cost-effective.
The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with strong ownership, thrives in evolving environments, and turns ambiguity into structured solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product engineers, report to the CTO, and have the autonomy to drive meaningful improvements across our infrastructure.
We’ll trust you to:
- Contribute to our migration from Elastic Beanstalk to Kubernetes, shaping best practices for container orchestration, scaling, and reliability.
- Strengthen our observability stack with Honeycomb and PagerDuty, building proactive monitoring and improving system health and incident response
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines, using Argo CD and AWS CodePipeline to adopt GitOps principles and streamline deployments.
- Ensure our architecture supports 24/7 availability, disaster recovery, and cost-efficient scaling.
- Investigate issues through root cause analysis, run blameless post-mortems, and put fixes in place to prevent recurrences.
- Work closely with product engineers to understand their needs and provide reliable, scalable solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on system architecture and DevOps practices.
- Take initiative in driving improvements across infrastructure and delivery practices.
You’ll thrive as a DevOps Engineer if you:
- Have experience running and scaling applications on AWS, ideally with Kubernetes (experience with EC2/Elastic Beanstalk is also valuable).
- Skilled in instrumentation, logging, monitoring, and tracing, using Honeycomb or similar event-driven observability platforms.
- Comfortable with PagerDuty or equivalent tools for building strong alerting and incident response practices.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Argo CD, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and capable of designing reliable delivery pipelines.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript to better collaborate with product engineers.
- Demonstrate high ownership and agency, taking initiative and driving projects forward even in ambiguous situations.
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to drive change alongside your teammates.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically, both in writing and in person
What’s in it for you?
- Work directly with the customer, in a culture of ownership and impact;
- 20 fully paid vacation days;
- 15 fully paid sick leaves;
- Paid public holidays;
- Compensation for health insurance and sports club membership (after trial period);
- Remote work flexibility.
