We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join our User Interface Platform team to architect and build the next generation of our frontend user behavior analytics framework at Upwork.
A pillar of Upwork growth strategy is to connect freelancers and clients around the world with sophisticated machine learning models and advanced business insights with the exploration of the data. We are re-imagining our data platform and processes to support growing user behavior analysis. You will work at the intersection of the Engineering, Analytics, and Data Platform teams to build out a new core frontend library for Upwork’s User Behavior Analytics system, to be used within our UI stack leveraging Vue and Nuxt.js.
▢ you and one other frontend engineer will work together to architect, build, and rollout a web analytics library for our frontend web applications to collect user behavior analytics data;
▢ you will be part of the UIE Infrastructure team, and collaborate with the other technical architects in designing a scalable and high-performance frontend tracking solution;
▢ you will work with our data platform and analytics teams to structure the appropriate context and metadata for tracked events;
▢ you will regularly consult with stakeholders on our data platform, analytics, and product engineering teams to gather and adapt to changing requirements and user feedback;
▢ you will need to attend at least three meetings weekly (often in EET evenings and lasting
▢ 8+ years of software development experience;
▢ extensive experience with a modern JS framework, such as Vue (preferred), React, or Angular;
▢ solid understanding of web performance principles and best practices;
▢ experience working on consumer-facing web applications, such as ecommerce websites;
▢ self-motivation, self-organization and self-education skills;
▢ English on at least an intermediate level (should be able to pass the technical interview in English).
