Project Description

For our client, a core team of database architects, data analysts and data scientists combine computer science and medical expertise to help patients and healthcare professionals access high quality health information quickly and easily to improve total patient health. We are currently in need of Data Engineer to join this team!

The Data Engineer will support our database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives. Reports directly to Data Warehouse Manager you will be part of the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of data warehouse systems. Assist with data design and the creation of database architecture and data repositories. Support the entire data analysis tool stack, including ETL development, warehouse modeling and development of structured data.

You will gain experience writing clean, quality, and testable code in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Contribute to innovative approaches to complex problems. Work and learn in a small cross functional agile team. Lead and participate in design and architecture decisions. Be passionate and continue to hone your craft in real world scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot and test tasks necessary to develop Data Warehouse and data repositories including ETL solutions.
• Assist with data design and the creation of database architecture and data repositories.
• Assist with reports and data extraction when needed.
• Monitor and tune queries and data loads for reliability and availability of all data and ensure they work according to benchmark standards.
• Assist in any tasks as assigned in supporting the development and validation required through the lifecycle of the DWH and Business Intelligence systems, maintain user connectivity, and provide adequate security for data warehouse.

Requirements

• Aptitude and motivation to working with structured datasets, processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
• Exposure to the concepts of data warehouse design.
• Understand data models and their relationship to data warehouse build.
• Experience as SQL Developer (queries, views, procedures, Oracle PL-SQL/Microsoft T-SQL preferable).
• Experience or to be exposed to ETL and BI Dashboard tools, such as SSIS, DataStage, SDI, Talend, QlikSense, etc.
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and simultaneously work on multiple projects/assignments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal instructions.
• Ability support the development and validations required through the lifecycle of the DWH and Business Intelligence systems, maintain user connectivity, and provide adequate security for data warehouse
• Curiosity for technical challenges and an eagerness to explore new approaches.
• Good English (B1 or Intermediate+) to communicate with our inner customer and technical specialists from local teams.
