About the role:

We are looking for a HubSpot Integration Engineer to help First Orion formalize its HubSpot Engineering function and build a repeatable approach for future integrations. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a HubSpot administrator or configuration-focused position. The engineer will work within the Engineering organization reporting up to the CTO and will be responsible for integrating HubSpot with internal business systems, data systems, product platforms, and operational tools. The role requires a high level of autonomy, technical leadership, active communication with business stakeholders, and alignment of new HubSpot-specific processes with the company’s existing engineering standards.

What you will do:

• Design and implement integrations between HubSpot and First Orion systems.
• Build applications on the HubSpot Developer Platform, custom integrations, and automated workflows.
• Integrate HubSpot with Databricks Lakehouse, First Orion Branded Calling APIs, Salesforce, internal ERP systems, and other internal and external platforms.
• Work with internal REST APIs, the gRPC ecosystem, and Databricks Delta Sharing APIs.
• Define HubSpot-specific processes for ALM, CI/CD, packaging, deployment, observability, and change management.
• Support data accuracy and data governance: mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and synchronization logic.
• Diagnose synchronization and integration failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Lead and engineering peers on code review and architecture decisions.
• Document integrations, standards, technical decisions, and handover to IT Operations.
• Train other engineers on HubSpot Engineering best practices.

First 90 days:

The first 90 days will be focused approximately 50% on standards, governance, and discovery of the current state (will go down to 25% thereafter), and 50% on developing new solutions (will go up to 75% thereafter). You will be expected to create the initial set of processes and procedures for HubSpot ALM, align best practices with First Orion’s engineering standards, work with Platform Engineering on packaging, CI/CD deployment strategies, and observability, and deliver the first two integrations. Some aspects and details are communicated only under an NDA, but the direction is clear: existing and new internal and external solutions that should be implemented within the first six months.

Required qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in CRM, integrations, backend development, or data integration engineering.
• Practical experience with HubSpot or very similar CRM/integration platforms; the HubSpot Developer Platform will be an important part of the role.
• Experience building API integrations and custom scripts in Java, Node.js / TypeScript / JavaScript, or Python.
• Understanding of REST APIs, data synchronization patterns, error handling, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of ALM, SDLC, CI/CD, code review, deployment, and change management.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation, validation, cleansing, or ETL approaches.
• Ability to define processes independently while aligning them with existing organizational standards.
• Strong communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Sufficient spoken English for regular interaction with the U.S.-based team.

Will be a strong plus:

• Databricks, Databricks SQL, PySpark, or Lakehouse architecture.
• Development skills in Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Practical experience with AWS in a production environment; multi-cloud experience is a plus.
• Data Engineering experience: ETL pipelines, data modeling, and data warehouse concepts.
• Experience with PII / CPNI / GDPR or other security and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Salesforce integrations or willingness to grow in the Salesforce Integration Engineering direction.
• Experience creating engineering guidelines, integration standards, or technical enablement materials.

• Someone who expects a fully defined roadmap and detailed instructions for every step.
• A candidate who finds it difficult to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
• An engineer who does not want to document decisions or build maintainable processes.
• A candidate whose spoken English is not sufficient for regular interaction with the U.S.-based team.
