Successful candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of recent quality assurance testing experience in software products, ideally in software as a service.

The role of the Quality Assurance Engineer is to help the product team assure the product being released meets and exceeds the requirements and expectations as defined by the team. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of software testing experience, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and a history of excelling in a dispersed setting. We are a small team of highly experienced technical builders and organizers, and all members of the team are equally involved in the strategy and building of this legendary platform no matter what their role. We are part of something new and very exciting and, thus, extremely fast moving, and we invite others who enjoy those attributes to join us!

What you will do

~ Thorough analysis and reporting in a technical environment
~ Testing current products and identifying deficiencies
~ Gathering, and meticulously communicating detailed feedback, and documenting best practices
~ Writing and executing test cases, both manual and automated
~ Developing a test strategy that aligns with release planning
~ Suggesting solutions to identified product problems
~ Defining corrective action where necessary to meet product requirements
~ Communicating promptly any discrepancies in the products
~ Understanding and navigating technical codebases and databases
~ Working independently, but in close coordination with the data and front-end engineers
~ Ensuring UI/UX aligns with Design team’s vision and requirements
~ Investigating product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
~ Planning, creating and managing the overall Quality Planning strategy
~ Collaborating with the Product Development team to ensure consistent project execution
~ Identifying quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggesting actions for improvement
~ Overseeing continuous improvement projects
~ Collecting quality data to use in test cases
~ Identifying KPIs for product quality
~ Preparing and presenting reports and metrics to Senior Management
~ Proactively communicating feedback using constructive, positive, actionable language

Note: Automation mainly with Cypress/Selenium and Postman. We definitely would want test scripts and manual test plans documented as well. We don’t have much documented in manual test plans and the FE guys have quite a bit done in Cypress so maybe 70/30 (manual/automation) to start. Then there would be less to update in manual scripts and we would always look to automate tests to make life easier. The person we bring on would have influence in recommending approaches.

About you

~ 5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance engineer or tester, using software QA tools and best practices
~ 5 years of experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI testing, automated testing, test-driven development strategies and others
~ Proven work experience in agile software development, including using systems such as Jira for issue tracking
~ Experience collaborating via sprint planning, daily stand-ups, ticket management, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives
~ Experience testing SaaS software
~ Solid knowledge of MySQL, Cypress/Selenium and Postman
~ Ability to see a problem from multiple angles
~ Bonus: Experience coding with React and/or Go
