Position: CTO / VP Eng | Kiev, Ukraine

We are looking for a CTO or VP Engineering for our Ukraine office. The existing office in Kiev is 3 people and growing to 6-8 people by the end of the year. Our office is in the Pechersck district.

All engineers in Kiev are expected to work very closely with the USA team for both operations and product improvements. You will be expected to keep in very close contact with the U.S. team on a daily basis. It is absolutely critical to have strong leadership and communicaiton skills in order to proactively drive projects forward remotely. You will also be great at attracting tech talent as we grow.

Responsibilities:
Manage and motivate a team of 6-8 ops engineers and developers in our Kiev office
Translate business requirements into product deliverables
Ensure the smooth day to day operation of our platform
Build tools to ease infrastructure provisioning and scaling
Continuously extend and improve infrastructure components to handle growth
Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with “operability” in mind
Assist our software engineering team to ensure proper monitoring and metrics are being built into the applications before going to production

Requirements:
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Must be self-driven
Desire to work in a fast paced environment
Expert in Linux Ubuntu/Debian
Has some programming background in one or more of the following language: Java, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby
Knowledge of networking protocol (Layer 4, BGP Routing)
Knowledge of software and hardware load balancing solutions
Server Virtualization using Eucalyptus, OpenStack or CloudStack
Ideally you are able to travel to the USA on occasion for training
