Our mission is to inspire and entertain audiences through innovative gaming and video experiences across all major Connected TV platforms, including Comcast, AT&T, Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio, and Amazon. We are a UK-owned company with offices in London, Tel Aviv, and Kyiv.

About the Role

As a Game Developer at Play.Works, you will design and build engaging casual games for the Roku and HTML5 platforms, working with our cross — functional team of artists, designers, and engineers. You’ll be responsible for technical design, coding, and debugging, ensuring high-quality, on-time releases that reach millions of Connected TV users worldwide.

What You’ll Do

— Develop fun, polished, and high-performing casual games for Roku
and HTML5 devices.
— Implement gameplay features and UI components based on technical
and functional specifications.
— Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and backend developers to
deliver great player experiences.
— Participate in code reviews, optimization, and performance
improvements.
— Contribute ideas to improve tools, workflows, and game quality.
Requirements
— 4+ years of software development experience.
— Proven experience developing casual or mobile games.
— Solid knowledge of JavaScript, C/C++, or C#.
— Strong understanding of OOP, software design patterns, and client-
server architecture.
— Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git).
— Intermediate+ English (reading, writing, and speaking).
— Willingness to learn BrightScript (Roku’s native language).

Nice to Have

— BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
— Experience with Node.js / TypeScript (backend).
— Familiarity with BrightScript / SceneGraph (Roku) or C/C++.
— Experience with commercial game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.).
— Skills in performance analysis and optimization.
