The Fourth Law is a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of autonomy technologies for drones. Our solutions are codified according to NATO standards and are currently utilized by over 50 units of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, as well as 20+ drone manufacturers.

Purpose of the Role: as the Grants & Funding Coordinator, you will take full ownership of The Fourth Law’s EU funding pipeline to secure non-dilutive capital. Operating autonomously, you will lead the end-to-end grant lifecycle, from consortium building and proposal writing to compliance, driving our technological growth within the European defense ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor and identify relevant EU funding calls (EDF, EDIP, Horizon Europe, NATO Innovation Fund)
  • Lead end-to-end grant application process: call analysis, consortium building, proposal writing, submission
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential consortium partners across EU defence ecosystem
  • Manage grant budgets, reporting obligations, and compliance for awarded projects
  • Coordinate with technical team to define project scope and workpackages
  • Develop and maintain a grants pipeline tracker with deadlines, status, and probability assessments
  • Represent The Fourth Law at EU funding events, info days, and consortium meetings (primarily Brussels)
  • Advise on which opportunities to pursue based on The Fourth Law’s product roadmap and expansion priorities
  • Manage junior grants manager: set direction, review output, ensure proactive execution

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience with EU grant programmes (EDF, EDIP, Horizon Europe, or similar defence/security funding)
  • Proven track record of successful grant applications, ideally as lead applicant or workpackage lead
  • Understanding of EU defence funding landscape and institutional framework (European Commission, EDA)
  • Experience with consortium management, partner coordination, and multi-stakeholder projects
  • Strong written English: ability to write compelling, structured grant proposals
  • Budget planning and financial reporting experience for EU-funded projects
  • Self-starter who works independently and drives the agenda without daily direction

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Experience specifically with EDF or EDIP calls
  • Technical background or familiarity with defence technology (drones, sensors, AI, autonomy)
  • Network within EU defence research and industry community
  • Ukrainian language skills (for internal coordination)
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
  • Familiarity with Ukrainian defence industry context
