Acorn-i is looking for a Data Scientist to join our start-up business. The successful candidate will play an essential role in understanding our unique datasets and will work with our client services team to provide valuable insights to inform client strategy. You will also work with the Technology team, helping improve our product and datasets. Reporting into the CTO, we expect the candidate to be intelligent, enthusiastic, willing to learn and love technology. The successful candidate will get the opportunity of working with cutting edge AWS technologies and work in a progressive team with a vision to automation and use data intelligence to solve business problems.

Master’s or PHD degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
3+ years of experience in Data Scientist, Data Engineer or Data Analyst role.
2+ years of experience with Python or R.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modelling, clustering, decision trees, etc.
Excellent SQL skills.
Experience developing interactive data visualizations for exploratory analysis.
Understanding of how data can be acquired from 3-rd parties, transformed within the business and use for analytics and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
English level — at least Intermediate strong.

Experience of MySQL, Athena / Presto, SQL Server or Snowflake.
Any experience of ML-based tools, such as AWS Sagemaker, Google Cloud AI Platform, TensorFlow etc.
Previous experience in advertising or e-commerce.

Analyse business-related datasets.
Build clear visuals and insights.
Transform data where necessary, bringing in external datasets to inform business and client strategy.
Building models and using ML tools (such as Amazon Sagemaker or equivalent) to provide business-driven insights.
Gain an understanding of Acorn-i products and data models and contribute to the roadmap to improve data and insights for clients.
