Business Development Representative (BDR) is the point of the first contact in the sales cycle. BDRs are responsible for lead generation and pre-qualification. BDRs do not close businesses but search for potential leads, make the first contact and once the lead is ready for communication, BDR passes it along to AE. As the result of lead generation and pre-qualification, the BDRs schedule intro calls for AEs.
