Integration and API engineer with Python/Grails (in Poland) (вакансія неактивна)

Варшава (Польща)

Our customer is the leading omnichannel platform powering the digital transformation of the global contract catering industry. Their technology processes over $300 million in annual transactions across 3,500+ restaurants in 20 countries — and they keep scaling fast to cement the position as the category leader. They are trusted by the world’s most iconic brands, with the platform used daily in corporate canteens, universities and schools, airline lounges, stadiums, and hospitals.

We’re looking for a skilled Integration/API Engineer to design, build, and maintain the APIs and system integrations that power seamless communication between the core platform and third-party services. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the platform interoperates reliably with external systems — ranging from payment providers and menu management systems to identity management/SSO and logistics. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable integration solutions while ensuring data flows are robust and performant across environments.

You’ll play a pivotal role in helping the team build scalable systems, drive technical excellence, and align engineering output with product outcomes. As the team continues to scale, the scope of this role will expand — creating clear opportunities to build and lead your own team. You’ll also have the chance to grow into senior leadership positions across the Development team with a progression path tailored to your strengths and ambitions.

Responsibilities:

API & Integration Development

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and webhooks that connect the core platform with third-party systems and platforms
  • Translate integration requirements into reliable, testable, and secure code
  • Create and manage data pipelines, sync processes, and event-based communication across services
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to ensure integrations are clearly scoped, robust, and standards-compliant

Security & Compliance

  • Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, and secure data transmission (e.g., OAuth, HTTPS, JWT)
  • Ensure integrations meet privacy, security, and compliance standards, including data validation and error handling
  • Monitor and audit third-party data flows to identify risks, discrepancies, or failures in near real time

Reliability & Observability

  • Build automated monitoring, logging, and alerting for all integrations to ensure uptime and traceability
  • Optimize performance of API calls and integrations for low latency, high throughput, and resiliency
  • Diagnose and resolve integration issues quickly—working across system boundaries to ensure root-cause resolution

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Ops, Backend, and external technical teams to plan, execute, and maintain integrations
  • Provide technical documentation, API contracts, and support materials for internal and external consumption
  • Act as the technical point of contact for integration partners and contribute to onboarding/support as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience building and maintaining APIs and system integrations in production environments
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and secure data exchange practices
  • Proficient with Python, Grails/Spring Boot, or similar technologies
  • Strong familiarity with API documentation standards (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger) and API lifecycle management
  • Hands-on experience with AWS-based infrastructure, CI/CD, and monitoring tools
  • Collaborative mindset — comfortable working across internal teams and external partners
  • Clear, concise communicator who can explain complex data flows and integration requirements
  • Fluency in English
  • Interest in joining a high-performance culture, where you won’t be intimidated by the intelligence and work ethic of your peers — and are striving to make an incredible impact
  • Experience working at pace and thrive under conditions of ambiguity, uncertainty and urgency
  • Interest in helping shape the direction of the company and helping scale the leading omnichannel platform in the catering industry

We offer:

  • Competitive salary depending on your experience
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Study and practice of English: courses and communication with colleagues and clients from different countries
  • Yoga classes
  • Compensation package (paid vacation, sick leaves)
  • Flexible working hours (from 9-11 to 18-20)
  • Comfortable office in Warsaw or a possibility to work remotely

If your qualifications and experience match the requirements of the position, our recruitment team will reach out to you in a week maximum. Please rest assured that we carefully consider each candidate, but due to the amount of applications the review and further processing of your candidacy may take some time.
