Svitla Systems Inc. looking for an experienced RoR Engineer to join our growing team of experts for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is determined to eliminate the idea of waste by making it possible to recycle items that are traditionally considered non-recyclable. A global pioneer in green business operates in 21 countries in partnership with some of the world’s most recognizable brands and retailers, including Kraft/Mondelez, Procter & Gamble, Nestle, L’Oreal, British American Tobacco, and E.J Gallo amongst others. Through these partnerships, engages over 48 million participants to collect and send waste for free from their schools, offices, non-profits, community groups, and a wide variety of other organizations as well as homes. Our client then turns the collected waste into a wide variety of eco-materials and products. You will get to work on interesting projects including their new global website where you’ll experience developing software to be used in dozens of countries by millions of people of different cultures and languages.
Ruby, Ruby on Rails;
MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis;
Experience in TDD/BDD;
Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Heroku, or other);
Basic Linux experience;
A well-founded understanding of or preferably working experience in an Agile Software Development environment;
At least a working proficiency in English, both written and verbal is required as our day-to-day communications are in English;
Comfortable working in a virtual team with associates from many countries and cultures;
Attention to detail and accuracy;
Good interpersonal/communications skills;
Experience optimizing for short term execution while planning for long term maintenance.
Develop, maintain, and extend our client websites and applications;
Participate in meetings when appropriate and be able to discuss technical issues clearly and positively with non-technical audiences;
Help define and execute standards and practices that enable our development team to do this as quickly and effectively as possible;
Internal support: Troubleshoot website, server, and other problems in a weekly rotation with other IT team members.
Experience in at least one statically typed language (preferred: C++/Java/C#);
Linux System Administration skills.
