As an Embedded Systems Security Engineer, you will advise on potential security issues as a consultant to other teams, as well as test and support features for new and existing products. You will be an early hire on a growing team, with a range of responsibilities and the freedom to work across a number of projects, and across our entire technology stack.
With security embedded in every layer of our design, we work with products including those built for home security with numerous consumer security features, some which do not support automatic software updates. The security team is responsible for ensuring that each new product and feature we ship is up to our security standards and that we continue to maintain and improve devices’ security over time. You will help build and support everything from hardware to wireless protocols to mobile apps to the cloud.
— Perform security assessments of existing and new hardware and software throughout product development lifecycle
— Help implement security fixes for potential or reported vulnerabilities
— Assist with designing new security features and enhancements to existing products and services
— Review and challenge the design of new hardware and software to identify and suggest improvements
— Coach engineering teams on secure engineering practices
— Competent or adept in several programming languages, including some combination of C, Python, and Go
— Experienced in networks and relevant security practices and controls
— Knowledgeable about Linux security model and hardening techniques, such as ASLR, DEP, SELinux, AppArmor, etc.
— Experience in building or breaking embedded systems, drivers, or operating systems
— 3+ years of experience in security engineering, or engineering with a meaningful security focus
— Good written and spoken English
— Experience with WiFi security, Secure Boot, ARM architectures, and TPMs
— Experience designing, implementing or attacking radio and wireless interfaces
— Understanding of modern cryptography and cryptographic solutions design
— Experience with fuzzing
— Experience with bug bounties
