Java Developer (Poynt)

SPD-Ukraine is looking for Middle Java Developer to join our team.

Poynt is a successful innovative startup that was recently acquired by GoDaddy. It is operating with smart payment terminals, provides the next level all-in-one e-commerce solution that turns a payment terminal into a smart device with lots of features for business. These Android-based terminals support all modern payment technologies.

Its new parent company GoDaddy is a well-known domain registrar and web hosting company, that has grown to one of the leaders in online commerce with more than 20 million clients. Poynt is going to provide its service to millions of current GoDaddy merchants across the globe. It allows merchants to use the power of unified solutions for online and offline commerce.

Required qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Java
  • Experience with Spring and Hibernate
  • Strong knowledge and high experience in SQL and REST
  • Knowledge of common patterns and algorithms
  • Experience or understanding of event messaging
  • Understanding OOP, popular design patterns, microservices architecture
  • High level of responsibility and ownership
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally with English-speaking partners.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in e-commerce and payments domain
  • Experience working with data and GDPR (pipelines, migrations, PII / PCI data)
  • MySQL DB
  • High-load distributed systems
  • 3rd party integrations
  • Creation of automated tests in Postman

Scope of your responsibilities:

  • Building a business logic for e-commerce & payments product according to roadmap
  • Implementing reliable 3rd party integrations
  • Creating solutions for data protection
  • Creating unit tests and integration tests
  • Communicate with stakeholders about requirements
  • Documenting own services/algorithms/functionality on wiki
  • Participating in making technical decisions in the team.
