About the role:

We provide our clients with the most comprehensive, reliable, and actionable data, research, and insights to help them make informed investment decisions and stay ahead of the competition.

We are now seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Java Engineer to join a mission-critical product area responsible for designing, building, and evolving a sophisticated search experience used by financial professionals worldwide. The team owns the full search lifecycle, including criteria modeling, search execution, results presentation, comparisons, and collaborative workflows.

The project involves building scalable search infrastructure and enabling rich user-facing capabilities such as screeners, advanced search results, pivots, charts, quick entity views, and profile comparisons. You will also contribute to advanced functionality including enhanced keyword matching, industry suggestions, reusable search layouts, and multi-user collaborative search scenarios.

The system is under active development, with continuous improvements in performance, usability, API design, and extensibility to support complex, data-intensive financial research workflows at scale.

Team setup: Team Lead, 5 BE, 5 FE, 3 SDET

Tech Stack: Java 17+, Kubernetes, Spring/Spring Boot, OpenAPI, PostgreSQL, Kafka

Work Environment: Flexible schedule with mandatory attendance for core team ceremonies (daily stand-ups, retros, and sprint planning). The environment emphasizes autonomy, deep technical ownership, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

As a qualified expert You will

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services for data ingestion and transformation
• Implement orchestration and automation of data pipelines (streaming and batch)
• Develop REST/gRPC APIs for unified access to enriched datasets
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to define requirements and deliver solutions
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration
• Ensure high standards for security, performance, and reliability

We’re looking for you if you have

Core Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java (17+) for backend and data services
• Experience with streaming and batch processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark, Airflow, etc.)
• Solid SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP environments
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and API design
