We are looking for a Chief Legal Officer who will bring clear legal strategy and provide legal guidance that enables achievement of company’s growth objectives. The person on this position will empower and manage our legal team to serve as trusted business advisors who are sought out to proactively help the business develop solutions.
What you will do:
— Support & develop the corporate structure of Solid across numerous jurisdictions of presence;
— Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited with strategic partnerships, complex business deals, and customised merchant contracts for our payment services;
— Compliance of merchants with the rules and regulations of international payment systems (Visa, Mastercard, etc.);
— Flag new legal and regulatory developments and consider their impact on Solid, including regulations of international payment systems;
— Legal setup and drafting of policies required for the launch of acquiring activity;
— Proactively identify and assess regulatory oversight and compliance requirements applicable to company’s acquiring business in EU.
— Master degree in law;
— at least 5 years of experience (an international law firm/Big 4 or a financial institution would be preferred);
— Strong knowledge of corporate law;
— Vast experience with foreign law;
— Fluent English.
Will be an advantage:
— prior in-house experience in the Finance and/or FinTech industry (e.g. payment institution, e-money institution, bank) would be an advantage.
— Master’s degree issued by an EU university or international courses/certifications completed;
— Previous experience with PSD 2, GDPR, online payments, financial services;
— Work experience in the in-house legal department of an IT company.
