The PCMate application is used by thousands of customer users and factories throughout the world to design and print tickets, labels, and tags. The application user interface is designed for a variety of users. It covers the entry-level label designers and factory operators, as well as advanced users which are creating label designs that incorporate data acquisition features for the purpose of supporting automatic data, and other unmatched features in the industry. PCMate separates the print job data from the label design until it is time to print. This allows users to store all print jobs more efficiently and have have the necessity to save the label design only once. It also makes it easy to change the label design if needed.

From a technical point of view PCMate is a standalone Windows application. It has an SDI and a typical WYSIWYG editor. The application supports a specific XML schema, used elsewhere by Client. Currently, the application has a number of limitations (e.g. rotating images from horizontal to vertical position does not fit on the screen). Therefore the Client is considering migrating the existing C++ code, with its current functional approach, to more current .NET technology with OOP in certain parts of PCMate, in order to simplify development and on-going maintenance in the future.
