We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join Snap Inc. As a member of the Cameos team, you will help to build a platform that creates extremely engaging and funny videos featuring our customer’s faces. You will own and drive high-level features from planning through implementation and be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Working from our office in Kyiv, you’ll play a key role in building and shaping key features that millions of Snapchatters use every day.

What you"ll do:
— Create software that’s extensible, reusable and meets desired architectural objectives
— Perform reviews and ensure exceptional cloud platform quality
— Build robust, lasting, and scalable products

Minimum qualifications:
— BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
— 3+ years of software development experience
— Experience with backend services or distributed systems
— English proficiency (Upper-intermediate level and above)

Preferred qualifications:
— Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, best practices and Agile Software Development
— Experience with high load backend services or distributed systems
— Expertise with building scalable complex services (e.g. containers and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes)
— Demonstrated knowledge of a cloud platform: AWS or GCP
— Production experience with distributed compute/storage tools, e.g. zookeeper, consul or etcd
— Solid OOP and software design knowledge
— Experience with Go, Java, or other object-oriented languages
— Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages like Python, Perl, shell scripting.
— Knowledge in database systems and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, Mongo, Cassandra.
— Willingness to learn new technologies
