We’re building a world-class digital data stack at Sixt — and we’re looking for a Senior Tracking Engineer to help shape our global tracking and data collection systems across web, app, and server-side platforms.
You’ll join a collaborative, international team (ODET) working closely with marketing, product, and engineering to build tracking foundations that scale across 30+ countries and millions of users.

🔧 What You’ll Do
- Maintain and enhance Sixt’s global web & app tracking architecture, collaborating with data engineers
- Complete and maintain our server-side tracking platform (SSGA4 + SSGAds via SSGTM on Docker/Kubernetes)
- Become a key owner of our Customer Data Platform (mParticle) — helping assess, reconfigure, and evolve it to support product and marketing needs
- Define and document event schemas, clickstream data, and tracking specs for web/app platforms
- Work across teams to ensure accurate, privacy-compliant, and scalable data collection
- Grow into a MarTech-focused data engineering role with ownership of digital data pipelines, tooling, and architecture
✅ What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who has real experience in the following areas:
- 5+ years in web & app tracking, ideally as an implementation engineer or tracking specialist
- Hands-on experience with GA4, GTM, dataLayer, and debugging tools (DevTools, Charles, or similar)
- Understanding of custom event tracking, tracking plan documentation, and data quality assurance
- Experience designing and maintaining clickstream schemas for large-scale websites or mobile apps
- Exposure to server-side tracking concepts and at least some hands-on experience with SSGTM or similar tools
🌱 Nice to Have (We’ll Help You Learn)
These are valuable, but we’re happy to support your growth in these areas:
- Experience with mParticle or other CDPs (e.g., Segment, Tealium, Adobe Experience Platform)
- Familiarity with Firebase, Adjust, or AppsFlyer for app tracking
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python or SQL
- Exposure to cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Athena)
- Understanding of ETL tools like Airflow, dbt, or AWS Glue
- Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes, especially in the context of SSGTM deployment
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
