As a Product Owner at ShipHawk, you will be responsible for communicating, enriching and translating the product vision created by Product Management to the engineering team. You will work cross-functionally to define use cases and user stories and acceptance criteria and will ‘own’ accepting these stories as part of the definition of done. You will own, prioritize, and groom the product backlog for your team and will collaborate with product managers, prospects, customers, and other stakeholders.

To be successful, you will need to be a great communicator and collaborator. You will work closely with product management, engineering and user experience teams to develop product specifications and help engineering leads to articulate priorities and manage delivery trade-offs for each increment/release.

In addition to being an experienced Product Owner, our ideal candidate brings a fresh perspective, ideas for process improvement, resources and artifacts, and is very comfortable challenging the status quo. It is also important to note that while we aspire to specialize as much as possible, we are still a small, scrappy team, where team members often carry additional responsibilities including things like technical support, quality assurance, technical project management, UX research and more.

Responsibilities:

• Develop subject matter expertise within your product team’s problem space
• Write user stories, requirements specifications and user acceptance criteria
• Manage and prioritize your product team’s backlog
• Work with UI/UX teams to influence product design to meet user’s needs
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and measure success
• Work alongside engineering teams to develop product, make product/technology decisions
• Unblock engineering during increments/releases to clarity requirements as needed
• Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, grooming and release planning
• Own the delivery and acceptance of product team’s features/functionality

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years as a product owner or equivalent experience
• You love to dig into the details, are naturally curious about how things work
• You have empathy and value people
• You do whatever it takes to deliver on your commitments
• You own your results, good and bad, and learn from them
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skill set
• Track record for delivering results in fast-moving environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Direct experience using an agile framework (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
• Product owner / product management experience with B2B SaaS products
• Shipping, fulfillment, logistics or supply chain experience
• Experience with GSuite, Postman, Looker, Fullstory, Pendo, Atlassian suite, Salesforce
