Head of People (Product.Startup.Equity) (вакансия неактивна)


We’re looking for a Head of People Ukraine to help us scale and support our UA team. You will manage and build a team of HRs, Recruiters, Sourcers, Employer Brand Managers and Office/Event Managers and you’ll oversee and drive our People strategy in Ukraine. You’ll be working closely with our US-based VP of People as your manager and mentor (we are hiring for this position as well).

We’ve grown from 5 to 100+ during 5 years and continue growing quickly after the last round of Series B investment of $52.5 million. We are shaping a new category on the market — knowledge automation. Our product is now used by Glovo, Gerber Life, Herbalife, Hellofresh, John Deere, and many other customers.

You will be responsible for building a talent pipeline, positioning Shelf as a great employer, and helping our team to grow and develop. Together with the team, you’ll take care of HR functions related to L&D, onboarding and offboarding, team building and engagement, and adoption of People tools and processes (we have Greenhouse in place and planning to launch BambooHR soon).

  • Manage, lead, grow and develop a People team in Ukraine (currently 6 people)
  • Drive people growth towards a strong, world-class product culture
  • Develop People strategies and programs to meet the organization’s current and future needs and goals
  • Create an efficient recruiting process across all roles in Ukraine with our Recruiting Manager (Lesia)
  • Develop, initiate and maintain programs related to employee development & retention
  • Lead the development, implementation and effective communication of HR policies and procedures with our HR Manager (Sofiya)
  • Own the culture and build rituals to have the team lives and breathes it
  • Help to build our employer branding strategy with our Employer Brand Manager (Olesya)
  • Use traditional and non-traditional mediums to identify and attract quality candidates, including job fairs, community events, and networking with developers and other recruiters
  • Oversee and manage HR operations, such as payroll and legal, both inhouse and with external service providers
  • Plan and monitor HR and Recruiting budget
  • Develop, maintain and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together data and insights that will drive continuous improvement to our recruiting and people processes


  • 3+ years Leadership Experience (Sr. Manager, Director etc.)
  • 8+ years as an HR Professional
  • Fluent or advanced in written and spoken English
  • Experience in scaling companies or Ukraine operations to at least 200
  • Strong understanding of applicable legislation in Ukraine as they relate to HR
  • No matter the years in the role you’re humble and you’re always finding a way to grow in your skills and mindset with books, mentors, training
  • Have experience developing and maintaining HR projects and programs
  • Have navigated companies and people through a variety of organizational changes
  • Ability to develop people — you can coach people in their current roles to improve performance and prepare them for future roles
  • Strategic thinking — you’re able to see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way.
  • Organization and planning — you can plan, organize, schedule, budget in an efficient and productive manner
