Senior Java Developer (Contract) | Remote (Europe)

We are looking for an experienced Java developer to join a Norwegian client on a contract basis.
Initial duration: 3–6 months, with a potential full-time cooperation.

Project

A modern insurance platform that automates client onboarding when switching insurance providers. The system is built with a microservices architecture and runs in the cloud.

Tech stack

— Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot

— Hibernate / ORM

— REST APIs

— PostgreSQL

— AWS, Heroku

— JavaScript, Angular

— HTML5 / CSS3

Responsibilities

Integration with a third-party pricing engine:

— API analysis and integration

— Request/response handling

— Error handling

Improving a PDF parsing service for insurance documents:

— Bug fixing

— Adjusting mapped values

Requirements

— 5+ years of commercial experience with Java and Spring (Boot)

— Strong experience with Hibernate or similar ORM

— Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)

— Experience working with REST APIs

Nice to have

— Microservices experience

— Cloud experience (AWS, Heroku)
