Android Platform Developer

Samsung R&D Institute Ukraine is looking for a passionate and collaborative Android OS developers to join our team.

You will be involved in designing and implementing system components, learn about security model of Android and improve it for Samsung flagship devices in use by hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

More specifically, you will:

• design and develop Android system services
• maintain security-related Java components in Samsung devices
• make review of Android Open Source Project changes
• participate in research activities and strategic prototyping for future Samsung products

Major Requirements

• 3+ years of Android Java & Native applications development
• С/C++ development experience on the level required for Android native code application development
• overall understanding of Android architecture and security mechanisms
• basic knowledge of Android initialization process and init.rc system
• expertise with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) build system
• deep understanding and practical usage of Android OS IPC mechanisms
• Bachelor degree
• good technical English

Optional Requirements

• project leadership experience, requirements management, development process management
• Linux Kernel or Android Open Source Project (AOSP) contribution experience
• understanding of Linux Kernel internals (udev, IPC, interrupts, memory, networking, file system, driver frameworks, task management)
• knowledge of ARM technology (TrustZone, NEON, VFP, Thumb, GIC, MMU/MPU)
• understanding of Android security architecture (sandboxing, SE Android, AC, *.apk security)
• Android AIDL/HIDL interfaces knowledge, Vendor Test Suite (VTS)
• base knowledge about how to analyze bug reports, panic reports
• applied cryptography (practical use of TLS, authentication & authorization protocols, crypto algs.)
