Job Summary

Ring’s Management team is looking for an experienced Head of Infrastructure to join our growing infrastructure team. You’ll have an opportunity to work with the latest technologies like Kubernetes and Terraform in constantly changing environment working on peak load. This position requires “monitor and automate all the things” approach and experience/huge wish to lead a team of highly-skilled infrastructure engineers.

Responsibilities and Duties

— Managing major projects and deliverables
— Managing DevOps and IT support/System Admin teams
— Solving critical and architecture issues (should be hands-on as Infrastructure engineer)
— Collaboration with other Ring teams to define and prioritize teams’ projects
— Communicating project information to teams effectively
— Routing work between all responsible people in all stages of development
— Holding regular status meetings with Ring project management, defining and agreeing teams’ roadmaps
— Resolving and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
— Managing both internal and external approvals
— Monitoring scope creep and re-scopes projects if necessary

Qualifications and Skills

— 1+ year on Lead role (or huge wish and excellent communications skills you’ll need to show during the interview)
— 5+ years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration
— Knowledge of unix internals basic tools (sed/awk/coreutils)
— Web servers knowledge (we use nginx)
— Excellent understanding of network technologies & services such as DNS, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP
— Ability to use git and GitHub
— Basic knowledge of programming languages (ruby, go, python, java, etc.)
— Some experience with configuration management tools with Chef, Puppet or Ansible
— Descent experience with AWS (preferably) or any other cloud solution
— Experience with docker
— Experience with database administration (we use PostgreSQL) as a plus
— Experience with docker orchestration (we use kubernetes) as a plus
— Experience with CI/CD (jenkins, teamcity, circleci, etc) as a plus
— Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-code approach (cloudformation or terraform) as a plus
— Advanced English (speak, read, write)
