Position Summary:
The Marketing Cloud Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing marketing automation solutions on Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Engagement, Account Engagement, Next etc.).
This role combines hands-on development (AMPscript, SQL, APIs) with strong knowledge of customer journeys, data models, and integrations. The developer works closely with Consultants, Business Analysts, and Marketing stakeholders to deliver personalized, data-driven customer engagement solutions across multiple channels.
The role ensures scalable, high-performing, and compliant implementations aligned with best practices in data management, deliverability, and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Marketing Cloud Solutions: Build and maintain solutions using AMPscript, SQL, Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), Marketing Cloud Engagement tools or Marketing Cloud Next tools.
- Implement Customer Journeys: Design and configure Journeys, Automations, and triggered communications to support marketing use cases, Marketing flows.
- Manage Data & Segmentation: Design data models (Data Extensions, Data Cloud Segments), implement segmentation logic, and ensure data quality.
- Integrate Systems: Develop and maintain integrations between Marketing Cloud and external systems (CRM, CDP, websites, third-party tools) using APIs and middleware.
- Personalization & Dynamic Content: Implement personalized messaging using AMPscript and dynamic content blocks.
- Ensure Code Quality and Best Practices: Follow best practices for performance, security, scalability, and email deliverability.
- Automate Marketing Processes: Build automations for data imports, transformations, campaign execution, and reporting.
- Debug and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve issues in campaigns, journeys, data flows, and integrations.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Consultants, Architects, QA engineers, and Marketing teams.
- Testing and QA Support: Ensure proper testing of campaigns, personalization logic, and journeys before deployment.
- Support Deployment and Release Management: Manage releases and changes across environments.
- Stay Current: Continuously learn new features and updates within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing automation platforms.
- Strong knowledge of AMPscript, SQL, and basic Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS).
- Knowledge of Marketing Cloud Personalization, Marketing Cloud Next going to be beneficial.
- Experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and Contact Builder.
- Understanding of data modeling in Marketing Cloud (Data Extensions, relationships, segmentation).
- Experience with integrations using REST / SOAP APIs.
- Familiarity with Git or version control (nice to have).
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- English level B2—C1.
- Client-facing experience, including participation in workshops, campaign discussions, or stakeholder communication.
Certifications:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer.
- Additional Marketing Cloud certifications are a plus.
