As the Data Engineering department of Rakuten, we specialize in delivering complete and high-quality data as a service for our internal and external customers. Over the past 10 years, we’ve gained a wealth of experience in building the technologies and processes that allow us to do this — and we continue to evolve.

We’re a very Junior-oriented company and we’re willing to do our best to develop our engineers — especially if the interest is mutual.

You are:

A person who feels like a future Engineer. Interested in optimization, automation, finding easy solutions to complex problems. Not afraid to face an unfamiliar problem... and defeat it in the most efficient way. And you believe, that it’s possible to revise any system, scrap any method, abandon any theory if the success of the job requires it. And maybe you have the following skills:

— English Upper-Intermediate.
— A broad horizon of knowledge. You don’t have to be an expert in all areas, but you know “how things work” very well. And you’re always curious to know more.
— Quick wits, responsibility, self-directing.
— Good Communication skills
— Able to analyze a complex problem and decompose it into its components.
— ...and draw it (ERD, UML, BPMN)
— Have some understanding of XML / HTML / CSS / XPath and all other web things

Even a basic knowledge of anything below will be a great plus:

— SQL
— Regexp
— Any kind of RPA systems: Automation Anywhere, BluePrism, UIPath, etc.
— Excel VBA
— Experience with any programming language and a general understanding of the principles
— Experience with any BI tools
— Be able to build a megabase into a Factorio :-)

Don’t worry if there’s a lot you don’t know, we’ll teach you :-)

As Junior Business Analyst / Automation Engineer, you will:

You’ll be part of a team responsible for re-engineering the existing business processes (and sometimes inventing new ones) for our customers across different BUs of Rakuen Advertising. We meet with customers, deeply understand their processes, try them out, redesign it if necessary and find the best ways to automate them without many months of development — and implement those solutions.
