Job description

Our data-driven product team is looking for highly motivated and result-oriented tech lead / senior data engineer tending to become tech lead, who can join us in a product development.
We develop an event-based solution powered by ML & AI to define and get a next best product and/or service for our customers.
Our technical stack is: Apache Spark, Python/pySpark, MinIO S3 storage, Apache NiFi, Confluent Kafka, Apache AirFlow, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL/Greenplum, Redis, Jupyter, GitLab, Kubernetes.
In this role You will be responsible for product solution design and development, solution alignment with Enterprise Data Architecture, preparation of requirements for Enterprise Data Platform, new data processing tools researching, prototyping and implementation. As a technical lead one will be involved into the development process orchestration among data engineers, devOps, QA automation engineers and data scientists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Solution design;
• Requirements engineering and managing of product backlog refinement;
• Supporting Product Owner with product/sprint backlog management in technical topics, product road map as well;
• Orchestration of development, QA, devOps and data science streams within the team in order to synchronize and speed up product delivery, manage dependencies and reduce blocker risks also;
• Development, code review, best practices implementation, coaching team in hard skills perspective;
• Identification of improvement areas for data processing tools and techniques, preparing PoC or prototypes, descriptive docs and blueprints preparation.

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent;
• 5+ year experience of DWH/ETL/Big Data processing development;
• 2+ year experience in technical/team lead role;
• 2+ year experience of working with scrum team;
• Experience in an object-oriented programming language, Python is preferred;
• Experience in Spark development;
• Experience in Oracle DB, PostgreSQL / Greenplum;
• Experience in Docker & Kubernetes;
• Solid experience in version control systems and team collaboration via git (GitLab);
• Hands-on experience in Jira & Confluence;
• English upper intermediate;
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies, languages, tools and frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache AirFlow;
• Experience with SAP IQ SQL and architecture understanding;
• Experience in AWS PaaS/SaaS development and deployment;
• Solid knowledge of Data Lake and Data Mesh approaches;
• Experience in data processing performance tuning (bottle-necks detection, SQL tuning, massive parallel processing, caching, etc.);
• Experience with ELK stack and observability tools/approaches;
• Experience with IBM MQ development.
