Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) (вакансія неактивна)

Qualifications

• 4+ years in test/quality engineering, SDET, or backend engineering, specifically coding, test design, test plans, test cases, and hands-on debugging (flexible across the Mid—Senior range).
• Strong coding ability at a software-engineer bar; Python is our primary language.
• Strong SQL so you can query and validate state directly in the database.
• Solid Linux and command-line skills, with comfort debugging on remote servers.
• A debugging temperament: you read logs and stack traces closely and prove root cause rather than guessing.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean) and Git/CI/CD.
• Clear written communication, since your bug reports and repro steps are read and relied on by the whole team.

Bonus

• Test automation experience and a testing-framework background (pytest or similar).
• Experience testing cloud API systems, ideally a usage-billed/metered API product.
• Video/media experience: ffmpeg, codecs, HLS, DASH, DRM, VMAF, or streaming pipelines.
• Experience testing AI/ML features and non-deterministic output.
• Docker / Kubernetes / Terraform for spinning up disposable test environments.

Responsibilities

• Validate output correctness: confirm codecs, formats, audio/video sync, resolution, and packaging match what each job requested.
• Reproduce and prove defects: with hard evidence, isolating whether a failure is in the platform or the encode itself.
• Test across clouds and edge cases: AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, plus the conditions that break things (6K+ video, missing metadata, memory pressure).
• Run the full range of tests: functional, integration, end-to-end, performance, regression, smoke, and non-functional.
