We are looking for a Senior Data Architect who will be a significant part of creating a data platform for a new product.
Goals of the project:
— Develop a new data platform that would run on AWS and replace the legacy one.
This platform is expected to:
— Enable business analysts and data scientists to perform analysis to gain insights on customers, business operations, etc, as well as build forecasting and recommendation ML models, and perform A/B testing.
— Support zero-code acquisition and processing of a new data source, add features into the data and spin up new ML models in production.
— Have data curation capabilities, support the required levels of data resiliency and consistency, and be cost-effective and properly automated.
— Data architecture experience
— A clear understanding of ETL and data curation
—— Strong experience and understanding of relational and distributed databases (including internals) (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, etc.)
— Proven experience in Spark, Kafka, and streaming systems (Spark Streaming / Kafka Streams / Apache Flink), as well as query execution engines (e.g., Presto)
— Strong experience with AWS
— Strong understanding of reactive & functional programming
— Strong expertise in Java, Scala, SQL, and Python
— Good documentation skills
— Experience with continuous integration, test automation, and deployment
—— Experience with data monitoring and tracing in distributed and service-oriented systems
— Experience in distributed systems design and best practices
— Experience with Hive, Hadoop
— Understanding of integration with Tableau or other BI tools
— Advanced / fluent written and spoken English
