Back-end developer intern (Laravel) — part-time, paid, remote

We are building a novel platform that helps charities and nonprofits conduct fundraisers. Our goal is to help them engage more donors by making the donation process fun and social. We are just starting and our focus is specifically on fundraisers for Ukraine.

We are an early-stage startup and we are looking for an intern to support our back-end development using PHP 8, Laravel 8+, MySQL, Redis, Queues. We are looking for a team member who has a strong interest in working in a startup and has good English skills. Knowledge of Ukrainian is a big plus.

As an intern, you will work together with the founders and get first-hand experience in working in a startup, as well as solving novel and unique technical and business problems.

What makes you a great candidate?

• Great development skills in PHP 8, Laravel 8+, MySQL, Redis
• Experience with payment processors such as Stripe, Paypal, LiqPay, Fondy, WayForPay is a plus
• Good level of English
• Knowledge of Ukrainian is a big plus
• Attention to detail, excellent work ethic, and insistence on high standards
• Excellent oral and written communication skills — you can communicate problems and solutions in a clear and concise way
• A proactive approach to work (some tasks are open-ended, we are looking for a person who would be actively taking part in finding and suggesting solutions)

Current students or recent graduates are welcome.

What you will do:

• Work with our senior full-stack developer and another front-end junior to develop our website
• Conduct testing and quality control
• Dedicate up to 20 hours per week

The internship will last for three months with an opportunity for extension of the contract for a longer period. The start date is flexible although we would prefer to hire as soon as possible.
