To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re seeking the VP of Engineering. As a VP of Engineering at Yellow reporting directly to the CTO he/she will be responsible for the delivery of SW components and features according to the business needs by leading the R&D department represented by software engineers, quality assurance specialists, and business analysts.


Your mission at Yellow:

  • Establishing SDLC and development processes that match the business needs and support a predictable delivery of SW components and features;
  • Creating and maintaining a clear and informative status reporting to the CEO and CTO
  • Enabling scalability and further growth of the SW development department by introducing a set of measures such as newcomers’ on-boarding framework, mentor-ship programs, management structure, deputy structure, etc. Forming a middle management layer that is capable of getting things done without a need in constant control;
  • Responsible for quality of the software solutions by establishing/maintaining a proper test strategy and QA processes;
  • Being responsible for hiring/firing, personal development plans, and motivation of the team members in order to achieve the maximum possible productivity of the department. Ensuring the team is working effectively and efficiently in the remote mode;
  • Cooperating with the company stakeholders (CEO, CTO, COO, Product, Customer Support) in order to identify the business needs and define strategic and short-term goals;
  • Defining a single priority queue to make the prioritization process obvious and simple for all the involved parties.
  • Preparing and optimizing budgets.

Qualifications and Special Requirements:

  • Engineering or similar degree.
  • Strong organizational leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to develop quality teams.
  • Experience in recruiting engineers and contributors.
  • Previous working experience in software design and developing customer-orientated platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.
