Main required skills:

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on web technologies;
  • 5+ years of experience with React
  • 4+ years of leadership experience
  • Deep Typescript knowledge, overall understanding of how the web works;
  • Understanding prototyping in JavaScript and standards of ES;
  • Knowledge of how APIs work — REST, HTTP errors, rate limiting, authentication, etc.;
  • Redux, redux-saga;
  • Functional (react hooks) and class-based components;
  • Experience with visualization libraries like D3.js, Highcharts, Recharts, TradingView;
  • SCSS, PostCSS, styled-components;
  • Flexbox, Bootstrap, Material UI, Semantic UI, Blueprint, or other CSS frameworks;
  • TDD (Jest and Enzyme);
  • Building the SPA using Webpack and Yarn;
  • You must be comfortable with the Linux CLI;
  • GIT, Docker, CD/CI;
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems;
  • Ability to use English in everyday communication (with clients, fellow developers, etc.) and to read and produce code documentation;
  • Working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process;
  • Experience in releasing highly scalable products;
  • Effective communication skills including clear status updates.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the engineering standards and practices, ensuring that we continue to deliver high quality, well tested, well documented, secure, and readable code;
  • Ensure that you are continually improving and following the standards and practices agreed across the department and within your delivery squad;
  • Work across disciplines to add value in all areas, ensuring that you are balancing short-term sprint goals, and longer-term strategic objectives;
  • Collaborate at all levels across Technology, Operations, and Product to ensure delivery of customer-centric products with real value;
  • Take a lead in squad ceremonies, team meetings, and company initiatives to help drive continual improvement across the department;
  • Be accountable for continually improving your skills, knowledge, and performance, whilst setting the learning and development strategy for engineering and mentoring others;
  • Structure and format the source code, comment and mark up the code, as well as name variables, functions, classes, data structures, and files according to the company conventions and industry best practices;
  • Implement code refactoring and optimization methods;
  • Post refactoring and optimization results to the collective knowledge base as the best practices;
  • Modify existing software code and test its availability;
  • Analyze software code compliance with readability and performance standards.
