Your challenge:
• Planning, deployment and operation of new Linux VMs
• Virtualization with VMware is part of your daily business
• Demounting of existing VMs
• Adjustment of resources of the individual VMs (virtual CPUs, memory)
• Construction and demounting of the infrastructure components and their updates
• Version maintenance and update of the components used
• Development of new operating concepts for ongoing operations and projects
• Performance analysis and resolution of bottlenecks
• Error analysis in collaboration with developers from other departments
• Project work on request
• SUSE Manager Automation
• Configuration management
• Capacity planning
• Expertise in Security & Network
• Planning and implementation of the ongoing protection mechanism for the attacks known in the market: DDOS, Slowlaris, etc.
• Permanent monitoring of the systems and infrastructure of Novalnet AG and further development and scaling of the infrastructure in consultation with CTO as required.

You have experience in: apache, mysql, dns, mail, ntp, antivirus, fileserver, samba, iptables, gcc, kernel, cisco switch, cisco firewall, opensuse setup config, ubuntu setup config, slackware setup config, virtualbox setup config, shell scripting, perl scripting, php scripting, windows office setup, windows updates, asterisk/elastix, sip, printer, fax, dsl, computer hardware, network config, pci dss, filesystems, backup, ossec, documentation.

Your profile:
• 5 years appropriate practical work experience
• Good expertise in writing architectural concepts for complex Linux infrastructures
• You have good knowledge of network and firewall ^
• You have a basic understanding of IT infrastructures and operating systems, especially Linux
• Expertise in planning, implementation and operation of SUSE VMWare, XEN and Baremetal Linux systems
• Expertise for the administration of highly complex SUSE Linux environments as basis for MySql or Oracle systems
• In-depth expertise in upgrading Linux versions and databases
• Basic knowledge of SUSE HA or other high-availability solution in the Linux environment
• Basic knowledge in handling SUSE Linux VMs for the operation of MySql or Oracle or other database systems
• Profound knowledge in dealing with the Linux operating system and safe handling of shell scripting on this platform
• Customer- and service-oriented thinking and acting
• Analytical and systematic problem-solving competence
• Good German or good English skills
• Quality-aware work, especially with documentation
