— Master or Ph.D. degree in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology or a related fields
— 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in the bioinformatics or cancer genomics space
— Strong interest in contributing to biological research with clinical applications
— Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices
— Result-orientation and ability to deliver in time
— Good communication and interpersonal skills
— Good English
Experience and skills in working with the following areas is a plus:
o Python
o NLP
o handling of cancer genomics data sets, especially The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project
o user interaction design and data visualization
o healthcare projects (US-based), HIPAA
— Working in a highly proficient team of software engineers on the N-iX side
— Daily work with the remote team on the client side, requirements and status communication
— Project planning, taking part in software architecture design
— Code implementation
— Software ongoing maintenance
