N-iX is looking for an experienced Software Development Competence Manager to join our professional team!

Responsibilities:
• Establishes and enforces engineering best practices company-wide
• Establishes expert groups, maintains, manages, and reorganizes these expert groups according to the company’s business needs
• Establishes and maintains general qualification standards (competence models) for all levels of the engineers
• Maintains and improves the qualification process for recruiting external candidates for the engineering positions
• Develops engineering community by running tech-talks, mentorships, presentations, workshops, blogs, webcasts, and conferences
• Participates in the industry-recognized conferences dedicated to engineering and represents the company’s best expertise in the area
• Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of the software development training programs, covering the best industry practices, frameworks, tools, and concepts
• Performs project assessments with a set of defined engineering practices
• Creates and maintains the expert network for presales activities: estimations, PoC, discovery phase, customer consulting

Requirements:
• Master degree in Computer Science or similar
• 4+ years of experience in IT
• English Intermediate level or higher
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Good coaching and supervisory skills
• Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent estimation skills
• Team player
• People motivation skills
• Process orientation

Specialized knowledge:
• Understanding of software development company functioning and offshore software development specifics
• Understanding Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software development life cycles
• Extensive experience in application design and development
• Extensive experience applying architectural tactics and patterns on different projects
• Proficient knowledge of design patterns, design approaches, and concepts
• Proficient knowledge of software quality metrics
• Proficient knowledge of coding/testing best practices
• Proficient knowledge of at least one cloud service and continuous delivery pipeline
