Middle Full-Stack Developer (Java + React)

About the client

A US-based company that builds analytical data platforms for the construction and engineering sectors. The current product audits development and infrastructure project schedules for large development companies.

The role

We are hiring a mid-level full-stack developer (Java on the back-end, React on the front-end) to join the engineering team building a new analytical data platform, currently at MVP stage. You will work from an existing set of requirements to deliver features, then continue building as the product matures.

AI is central to the platform. It uses LLM-based agents to process project schedule data and supporting documents, calculate delivery and schedule risk, and generate reports and notifications. You will contribute to these features alongside a senior engineer who leads the technical direction.

What you will do

• Write full-stack code. Build and maintain back-end services in Java/Spring and front-end interfaces in React, clean and tested.

• Implement features. Deliver product features for the MVP and later releases from existing requirements.

• Contribute to AI features. Integrate LLMs and help build agentic workflows for reporting, data analysis, and task automation, with safeguards around tenant data.

• Support data workflows. Help build and maintain ETL pipelines that ingest, clean, and structure data — including schedule files such as Primavera P6 (XER) and Excel — for the analytical layers.

• Participate in engineering practice. Take part in code reviews and technical discussions and work within the team’s agile process.

What we are looking for

General

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.

• Some hands-on experience integrating large language models into applications, or a clear interest in building agentic, automated tooling.

• English at B2 (upper-intermediate) or higher.

Java / back end

• Solid Java (21+): core language, collections and generics, and a working understanding of concurrency.

• Practical experience with the Spring ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring Data (JPA/Hibernate), Spring Cloud and Spring Security.

• REST API design and consumption.

• SQL: writing queries and basic schema design.

• Testing with JUnit and Mockito.

• Build and tooling: Maven or Gradle, Git.

React / front end

• Solid React: function components, hooks, and component composition.

• TypeScript, with good web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, the DOM).

• State and data fetching: React Context plus a library such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or TanStack Query.

• Building data-driven UIs — tables, forms, filtering — against REST APIs.

• Build tooling (Vite or similar) and basic testing (Jest or Vitest, React Testing Library).

Platform / tools

• Docker.

• Base understanding of a cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also fine).

• Base understanding of CI/CD concepts and pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).

Nice to have

• Hands-on AI experience, shown through pet projects or commercial tasks.

• Practical cloud deployment experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Practical CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar).
