Middle QA Engineer (вакансія неактивна)

The client is an early-stage startup in San Francisco seeking to disrupt the tired and ineffective customer service model. The project we are working on is an outsourcing service that integrates with third-party systems to provide customer experience services.

We have been working on this project for 5 years, it has grown from a startup to a successful product. Now the stage of active development is continuing.

Manual testing tools: TestRail, Github, Jenkins, AWS, Kibana, Robo 3T, Postman

Project stack: React.js v.16, Redux, TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js, Parse, Kafka, MongoDB, AWS (SQS, KMS, S3). Microservices

Workflow: Scrum development, two-weeks sprints. Daily meetings at 10:00 AM GMT+3; weekly AQA sync up with the client at 8:00 PM GMT+3 on Wednesdays; sprint planning and retrospectives once per 2 weeks at 8:00 PM on Thursdays (Kyiv time). QA team sync up, Tuesday, 7:30 pm once per month

Team composition: 8 Dev’s, 1 QA, 2 AQAs, Delivery Manager

Project Highlights:

Scope of tasks and ownership:

  • Software quality assurance
  • Analysis and testing of requirements (discussion, amendments, improvements)
  • Writing and supporting various test artifacts (test cases, checklists)
  • Performing functional, UI / UX, regression, smoke testing
  • Bugs detection and documentation in the bug-tracking system (Jira), control of the bug life cycle
  • Test planning, improving or optimizing processes
  • Teamwork on planning, defining approaches and methods of testing that minimize risks in terms of product quality
  • Constant interaction within the Scrum team

What You’ll need:

  • At least 3 years of experience in testing web and Client/Server applications
  • Experience in creating checklists and test cases in accordance with the requirements of development, their regular updating, as well as the creation of business cases in accordance with the requirements of development
  • Understanding APIs and how to use/interpret them
  • Understanding of HTTP methods and status codes, skills of using web developer tools for problem analysis
  • Gray Box and Black Box testing experience
  • Experience with bug tracking systems (Jira)
  • Basic skills of working with SQL databases
  • Level of English Upper-Intermediate and above
  • Optional: Experience with Git (merging PRs), AWS (adding new variables, run jobs), Kibana (checking logs), Jenkins (deploying branches)
