As Senior Product Designer at Matic, you will embody the consumer and help build experiences that make complicated insurance decisions clear, easy, and transparent.
You will use your full range of interaction, visual, and product thinking skills to help build products that delight. This interdisciplinary role will work alongside product management, analytics, and marketing to drive key metrics all while keeping the consumers’ best interest at heart.
You will be passionate about promoting a design culture across the company and helping to build out a team as we continue to grow.
— Lead a collaborative design process from conception to launch, involving engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders
— Create and evolve our user interaction design system
— Partner with product managers to identify user needs, define product strategy, and create roadmaps
— Own all aspects of the brand visually
— Help the design team grow (hiring, mentoring) and iterate on our culture
— Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
— Work closely with engineering and QA to ensure that the deployed design is the right level of polish and quality for its purpose
— Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Matic executives for review and feedback
— 5+ years experience as a product or UX designer (management experience is a plus)
— Fluent in English
— Experience of working closely with Product Managers to develop and refine product requirements, creating solutions, and getting buy-in from stakeholders
— Accustomed to a fast-paced environment with multiple projects being worked concurrently
— Expert ability to balance quality with speed of delivery (as a startup moving fast is key)
— Exhibit a growth mindset and are deeply data-driven
— Must have experience with Sketch or Figma (we currently use Figma)
— Proven understanding and experience with user research, interface design, interaction design, and prototyping
— Experience designing for mobile and desktop web
— Strong experience with maintaining, adding to, or creating design systems and processes.
— Experienced in conducting customer research and usability sessions
— An online portfolio with case studies demonstrating your process in creating user-centered design solutions for products that shipped

Buying a home in the USA is scary and it’s the biggest purchase most people ever make. Matic helps new homebuyers protect their biggest asset by offering homeowners insurance, as simple as clicking a button (usually it takes up to 2 days!).

What am I going to do when I join Matic?
We are developing several endpoints for customers to get insurance, integration with our partners and a back portal for our insurance agency. We have core products in several smaller services that solve a single business goal. You will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to ship new, impactful features or new products to the market.
Why are we different?
Working in small teams with a lot of influence and, therefore responsibility, we are changing the insurance market in the USA. So we prefer to work with generalists that could deliver high-quality work and be flexible.
