Senior SQL Server Database Administrator & T-SQL Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator and T-SQL Developer to work with our lead DBA. The job involves day-to-day oversight of database systems and developing and refactoring efficient T-SQL scripts for various applications. This role requires extensive experience in database management, performance tuning, and supporting development teams. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent writing T-SQL.
Knowledge of enterprise accounting systems, particularly accounts payable, EDI 810/855 transaction data flow, purchase orders, and receiving business processes a plus.
Responsibilities
— Administer, monitor, and optimize SQL Server databases.
— Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting of database queries.
— Develop, test, and maintain T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
— Collaborate with development teams to support data architecture and integration.
— Ensure database security
— Mentor developers.
— Conduct regular database health checks and audits.
Requirements
— Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related work experience.
— 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA and T-SQL Developer.
— Proficient in T-SQL, transaction management, and query optimization.
— Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture and database design.
— Familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
— Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
— SQL Server certification (e.g., MCSA, MCSE).
— Experience managing High Availability Groups
— Experience building ETL tools
— Able to wrangle high performance out of substandard hardware
— Extensive knowledge of partitioning strategies in an on-prem environment
— Experience refactoring/improving low quality code
— Experience with SQL Server on AWS a plus for future migrations
